Jewelry Sales Associate

The Position

We are currently looking to expand our close-knit Front of House team to include an additional Jewelry Sales Associate! The Jewelry Sales Associate expertly facilitates jewelry sales, and provides product information to the general public through in-person contact and website enquiries. 

The successful candidate has a passion for both costume and fine jewelry, and is an expert in conveying information to customers in a friendly, accessible manner. As a high-end consignment shop, the jewelry we receive can be contemporary, vintage and sometimes antique. Passion for historical and contemporary jewelry trends, materials and styles is a must!

New pieces of jewelry arrive throughout the week. You have a grasp of basic merchandising practices and can keep our jewelry cabinets visually appealing, even with fluctuating volume. 

The Jewelry Sales Associate is also responsible for keeping all appraisal binders organized and up to date. As appraisals are submitted with fine jewelry, the Jewelry Sales Associate files documents in a timely and accurate manner. 

When not tending to jewelry customers the Jewelry Sales Associate assists with FOH duties as needed, including answering general telephone enquiries, and processing sales transactions through our POS system. 

Who You Are

You have impeccable interpersonal skills, and a positive, patient attitude towards helping our niche market of clientele. You are an organized self-starter, who is able to prioritize and multitask while maintaining a high level of customer service.

You have experience working in jewelry sales, preferably in high-end retail or auction establishments. Experience in the second hand market is an asset, as are any jewelry education certifications. 

You are an effective and uplifting team member. You reasonably anticipate team needs, and remain calm and effective when the shop is busy. 

Requirements 

• Full or part time availability 
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a specialized sales environment
• Adaptable in a fast-paced retail environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate
