Barry Blitt is known for his New Yorker Illustrations and won the 2020 Pulitzer prize for Editorial Illustration. Blitt contributed this piece for a commemorative art auction celebrating the life of a friend and raising money for cancer. Theme of the auction was Angels and this was the only non-cherubic piece. Blitt and his friend were both avid baseball fans and the piece depicts one of the first Angel star pitchers Bo Belinsky.
